I feel like there's a lot of meaning in this piece, a lot of pagan gods seem to be nature based, accounting for all the plants plus the worms (plus the tree bark mask). This would also explain the monkey-ish appearance of the pagan god itself and the birds as well, since it's centered around nature. I think the children are worshippers: the one at the bottom is praying, the trumpet (or flute?) is playing music for the pagan god, while the child at the top with the mask is the priest. I'm not too sure about the purpose of the blankets, but thanks for an amazing piece! It's quite beautiful and interesting!
Thank you for your conclusion, It is really nice to see this pic in a different perspective, with different concepts and visions. I'm going to share something to you, here is the color version of this piece, as you can see, it is completely colorful, because I wanted to exaggerate the tones and the vibe. davidlopezart.tumblr.com/post/… there is a song from my favorite band, The chemical Brothers that inspired me to make this piece, the name of the song is "The private psychedelic Reel". Thanks again!
Thank you for introducing me to the colored version of the picture and the song! I listened to the song while looking at the colored version and it looks fantastic! There are so many other little things in the picture that I was able to see with the color, and it gives off this neat festival-for-a-god feeling. I also really love the texture, especially the transition at the top of the mask from fur to bark.
